Petradi is a third-generation family business, whose history begins in 1950 when Vasilis Bageris (first generation), after studying watchmaking and attending seminars in Japan at the premises of SEIKO, opens his first watch repair and retail sales shop in Athens.
After many years of continually striving to improve and develop the business, Petradi’s activity expands beyond watches into the field of jewellery. Petradi passes into the hands of his daughter, Charoula Angelopoulou (second generation), who manages a move to new, larger premises and expands the business, building it up to a much firmer commercial standing. The shop is then in turn passed on to her son, Vasilis Angelopoulos (third generation).
Motivated by many years of family experience, Vasilis decides he wants to develop the quality of the Petradi’s services into the future. In order to achieve this, he first studies for a master’s degree in marketing in the UK, followed by a year studying jewellery design and gemmology at the prestigious Le Arti Orafe school in Florence. A degree in diamond grading from the British University GTL is later added to his qualifications, and thus he achieves the skills, experience and expertise necessary for an integrated approach to the design, repair and evaluation of jewellery.
Petradi manages to successfully connect the heritage of its brand with a modern aesthetic and modern business practises. Its accessible, neighbourhood character has been consciously maintained until today, while at the same time guaranteeing the provision of premium quality services to the lovers of fine jewellery and watches. As a result Petradi has won the trust of customers from all around Athens, all over Greece, and beyond.
